reckon a lot of millennials and zoomers figure they're immune to advertising, even look down on weak Pepsi shit, TV commercials, billboards and banners, while failing to realize they get played like fuckin fiddles with new-school advertising; efforts like slow-rolling which Spiderman villains will be in the new film, structured leaks to gin up excitement, trailers and trailers for trailers and announcements for sneak peak trailers for the trailer, etc.

different than what Don Draper did and younger generations prolly are fairly immune to old-school advertising, but given their spending habits they may be more susceptible to new-school advertising + guerilla marketing than a 1950s housewife ever was to a a full-page ad in a Sears catalogue.

They've moved to making their brands more likeable and profitable by having millennials control their social media accounts too

Starting to think I’m on some Inception shit

Several times in the past month (at least 5 distinct times that I can remember), I’ll be having a dream, recognize that I’m in the dream, but have a very distinct memory of something that happened during my life in that dream. And it’s so detailed and specific that when I wake up in that fresh out of sleep haze I really have to reconcile that it was part of the dream and not something that actually happened to me.

Like in one dream I had distinct memories of going on vacation to New York City. I’ve never been to New York. Another time I had a very distinct memory of my childhood dog (that died when I was 14) living with me in my college apartment. Another time I had a very distinct memory of dating and having a full relationship with a girl that I never dated. Another time I had distinct memories of working at a car dealership, I’ve never worked at a car dealership.

I know when I wake up these were all part of the dream but they felt SO REAL and detailed and specific to the life I had in the dream. I think I need to go get a spinner top.
