One of my most recurring dreams is being unprepared for an academic exam and/or failing a class due to lack of attendance, despite being nearly 10 years out of any form of school.

And I never actually got burned for skipping class; my highest grades in law school were for classes where I went to the first class heard "attendance is not mandatory" then only came back for the review session + final. It is like I have repressed guilt or something for succeeding at doing that and now my brain makes me re-live high school where I wouldn't be able to make that up.

ive had similar dreams where ill be back in grad school because i have to write a paper for a class in order to graduate, and in the dreams im like “i already have my masters why do i have to do this this makes no sense”

when i was actually in grad school and i think undergrad too i would have the same dream, but going back to high school because i never actually graduated for some reason. those dreams were much worse

people have told me that when i had those dreams about high school in undergrad/grad school, it was because subconsciously i had “unfinished business” and needed to finish my my masters

which means i now have those nightmares about grad school because subconsciously im supposed to get my PhD or something

I have that school dream quite often as well, usually Ive failed a class for only attending like once

I've only ever had it about shitty jobs I've had. Usually after I start or many years after I've been gone.

When I started working at a warehouse, for the entire week, I had nightmares of dodging forklifts and electric pallet jacks. When I was a porter/dishwasher, I'd try to go to sleep at home and my brain would be so used to the sound of plates and cutlery that need washing coming down the line. I'd be falling asleep and I'd start hearing the din of the kitchen/dishwashing area and wake the fuck up.

Source, me who had to deal with my brother spending 7 months holding up the trust cause he felt things out dad allegedly told him overrode what the trust said.
