Switch is gonna end up with Game Pass eventually I believe and they’ll keep the eShop for all the first party titles

Nintendo higher ups probably don't even know what a Gamepass is. Company is so disconnected from reality they still can't figure out basic concepts like in game chat.
I doubt that. I think people confuse their strict need for justification/cost with no aware of basic shit. I can't recall with the N64, but the Wii and Switch were profitable on hardware alone. When you're going hand over fist like that without those features, it becomes a bit tough to justify the additional cost to the profit margin.
I think the only game where I've wanted to talk to people on Nintendo consoles were monster hunter games that I was playing with people I know. I can see why people would want it for other games though.
Ah yes, just what I want in a family console. Little shit 5 year olds whose parents buy them every Call of Duty title screaming "fuck you fagets lol" while I try to play Mario Kart.
Yeah I sincerely doubt Nintendo gives a fuck who buys what.

Thinking about it more though, no one buys an XBox to play Final Fantasy. If Sony were to buy a studio that makes best selling games that would take a bite out of XBox sales if they went exclusive, Capcom makes a lot of sense. Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, Mega Man, Devil May Cry, those are franchises you'd get a lot of mileage out of by making exclusive.
No one needs to buy an xbox unless they dont have a PC. What xbox games are truly xbox exclusive?
If that meant no delay on the PC releases compared to console sign me the fuck up
PC games have gone to shit since modding was killed by DLC.
Pretty sure a bunch of good people I know are getting scammed in a MLM disguised as a crypto currency.
think the Activision-Blizzard acquisition is getting overblown a little in terms of framing it as a console war move. Microsoft seems to be increasingly moving beyond the zero-sum console vs console mentality of yesteryear, and while they'll obviously still compete in that world (see Elder Scrolls 6 exclusivity) they seem most concerned with moving as many units as possible in any sphere rather than dominating market share. they've in one sense abandoned console exclusivity entirely as everything they release immediately gets ported to PC.
pretty sure Call of Duty and the other major franchises are going to continue to drop for Playstation as well. too many sales to be made, and now even games being sold on Playstations are going to be a significant part of Microsoft's games division's profits. kinda like how they kept Minecraft on every platform on earth and now merely rake in the profits from Nintendo and Sony and iOS users as well as their own.
No pretty about it, you can be 100% sure.
It would be dumb not to release CoD games for Sony consoles, but nothing says they can't require signing up for Game Pass to play.

requirement seems unlikely but it would be a great coup for Microsoft if they could somehow strongarm Sony into allowing Gamepass on Playstations.
even that is only foreseeable while squinting (Japanese business hardheadness may see them prefer being eclipsed to compromising) but given Microsoft has never turned a profit selling Xboxes reorienting their focus towards becoming the Netflix of vidya is one likely possible future, with console manufacturing increasingly the redheaded step child of their gaming division.
they could never beat the Japanese console manufacturers so they have decided to change the game
