I do still remember a 9-man Fafnir at 2AM that consisted of me co-tanking on WAR with a level 74 PLD and our only healer dual-boxing SMN for Leviathan damage. I remember getting Behemoth with only 2 other people so we 3-manned it in front of all the other LSes who were there hoping for KB. Awesome, exciting stuff, never want to do it again.

    Especially as a NA player.

JP 18 ally claim behe and dot it down with warp cudgels to keep the window in JP time as best as possible:
GM: this is fine theyre doing nothing wrong

NA 6pt claim behe and kill it normally:
GM: KILL IT IN 3 MIN OR YOURE ALL BANNED YOU PRICKS

If enough people were in the zone, that city defense thing in Aht Urghan was pretty fun, I would do that still.

God no, server-wide content is horrible. I thought that in 2008 with Besieged and it's true even today.

Cooperative gameplay where everyone loses or succeeds together so you have to help even weaker characters across the finish line to win doesn't appeal to you? Gosh, that's such a surprise given everything else we know.

Gred spent the last 15 years in his room muttering “XI died with kings, its gonna get shut down any day now”.

In the distant future on november 11 2041, SE has decided to shut down the XI servers to force players to migrate over to their fourth MMO iteration. XIV and their third iteration have already been shut down.

Nothing short of a rollback of the servers to April 2010, extinguishing all gains gotten post-Kings, would satisfy my ressentiment.

If I could cast Grudge, it would cause a singularity.

Gred when my business allows it to be so I will pay S-E to make an FFXI classic server that only includes content up to 75.

In fact if I get as rich as I want to, I will pay them to go ahead and include the level 99 limit cap and everything subsequent, but make everything in Abyssea timed spawns that can't be shared. Dozens of mobs that people clamor for that can be monopolized for no reason other than to block them from enjoying the game.

I have a meeting this week with a potential investor so, keep me in your thoughts.

Well, the deal is, me and 4 partners have been working for the last year on a service which would link people who have end-of-live directives (DNRs and the like] directly to attorneys who will advocate for them in the event they can't do so themselves. Ensures the documents are within the bounds of the law, takes the burden off of family members, helps avoid unwanted medical expenses, lots of reasons to do it. For the attorney's part, in exchange for maybe possibly one day needing to call a hospital or show up to deliver a C&D (or what have you), they get access to our member base to advertise whatever other services they offer directly to an audience already thinking about legal help.

We've had high-profile talks in the past fee weeks with two potential businesses who would like to offer what we do as an add-on to their own service lines, which would be huge for us as it would mean potentially several hundred thousand possible buyers nationwide. But today a company reached out to us for the first time and directly talked about investing, and wants to meet with us this week to talk about what that would look like. If we're able to get money up front that would let us build out some infrastructure we had previously slated as long-term goals. Could be huge.

I guess if you have any attorney friends who would want to join our network it would never hurt to have more names on that list.

So do something that scares old people into signing on for third party DNR services. Gotcha

So a dpoa who isn't the family. An advance directive should already serve that role.

You get in a car accident or fall down a flight of stairs somewhere the doctor isn't going to stop and ask for someone to find your advance directive first.

I mean, I don't have to sell you guys on it. One of the partners we're working with does nothing but advance directives nationwide and when they heard someone was going to actually step into the enforcement area they reached out to us because they acknowledged that's the part that's missing for everyone.

You can write them out, have them notarized, even file them with your AG's office in some places, and almost every state has a rule on the books about how they're enforceable. No one is ever under any obligation at any point to go look for them, and if you're in a vegetative state and one of your kids or spouse gets to the hospital and says "do whatever you have to to keep them alive," that's what they're gonna do. We've run into a hundred stories like this in the run up to launch.

I went on a date once with a chick who works for DoD doing deep fake analysis and prevention and she told me her big goal in life was to work with lasers. I think often about starting something in that field so I can call her up again.
