TLOU2 had way too many scenes that only pay off if you genuinely love the characters, which I absolutely don't, so there was def too much exposition and slow plot for my tastes.

i love the characters so had lesser complaints, but ya the narrative certainly isn't as tight or cohesive as the first

respect for being different and more ambitious tho. don't always pan out perfect but beats regurgitating the same thing again

I don't hate the stories being told in the FBs, but you aren't actually "playing" in a meaningful sense - you can't die, you can't get useful items, you can't improve your character.

And I'm not just talking about the pre-teen stuff, the whole Abby playthrough works like this too. Dying as her just doesn't make sense, we know she survives! We saw her in the future already! And I don't want her to survive, I want her to put her gun in her mouth, don't require me to persevere!

(I do enjoy that they explained how Ellie was able to survive all this physical life or death confrontation [she's a lesbian] and had to make the straight Abby fucking jacked to compensate)
