Terminator 2 was dope, but Godfather 2 shows you there’s levels to this sequel stuff.

it insists on itself
jurassic park might be the worst trilogy, xmen has the worst 3rd movie, pirates of the Caribbean has a very good first and stays enjoyable up to it's 3rd installment.
but nah yeah the answer is the Godfather trilogy. Dollars and Alien are also absolute mint.
honorable mention trilogies-
Mad Max
Vengeance
Three Colours
Toy Story pretending the 4th never happened
Evil Dead
Toy Story 4 was fine so long as you treated it like an epilogue. It didn't need to happen, and really didn't even change much after the third besides Woody leaving to be with Bo, since Jessie was rightfully the most important to their new human.
Jurassic Park 2 & 3 though were absolutely hot garbage. Lost world was alright as a book, but the third, I never wanted to leave a movie so early in my life, and I accidentally spent money to see Alone in the Dark and Elektra in theatres.
I am quite happy you also agree Dollars Trilogy is right at the top
easily better than xmen 3

The Dollars Trilogy is one of the only ones where the movies start dope and just keep getting better. Godfather 3 kinda blew it, Alien 3 is mediocre, Lady Vengeance half sucks, Terminator 3 full sucks, Evil Dead and Mad Max start rough before finding their footing.
You all present excellent choices.
Too bad those choices are not the best trilogy (movie) of all time. Unlike Back to the Future.
The layers they used to unify the three films solidify them.
Lame to try and play "Well these two were good, let's just ignore the crap one." ALL OR BUST, BITCHES.
prolly belongs in BG confessions but i've never seen a Back to the Future movie
Guy who plays Biff carries around business cards with this on it whenever someone starts asking him questions:

i only grew up, kinda white. never saw a Star Wars till high school either. never seen an Indiana Jones.
The assembly (director's) cut of Alien 3 is way way better then the theatrical version if by chance you've never seen it.
Still not a great movie since the entire thing is forever ruined by Newt & Hicks getting unceremoniously axed, but does redeem the rest of the story quite a bit
