Pure foolishness on my part.

One of the coolest twists in gaming of the last decade was how in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Revolution you could recruit extra NPCs to become your assassin minions and send them on missions and stuff, but they were otherwise inconsequential to the story. Then Assassins Creed 3 happens and the same system with NPCs returns and you think it’s more of the same but then they show up and save Connor when he is about to be executed. Turns out they are actual important characters now.
