I'd say yes, S is a substantial improvement over the original except for the graphics (they received a slight downgrade since S was originally on the Switch, though you can mod them back up to the OG version on PC).

Massive QOL features across the board, better music, 2D mode and a bunch of extra content.

There's textures/model/grass & foliage improvements.

It's all under the "project rebuild" banner and if you click on one it should have links in the description to all the other ones

If you're playing on the deck I would maybe only bother with the grass one. Most of the texture/model improvements would barely be noticable at the resolution of the deck, and the lighting mod also requires some config tweaks to not look weird, and those combined will probably tank the fps on the Deck.

bet i experimented around and model retextures + grass went fine and do look a bit better, cutscene upgrades too, lighting and 4k everything textures annihilated framerates tho f

prolly look into the soundtrack mods too only a handful of hours in and the battle theme is already wearing me down

Cleared Act II and yeah when you reload after getting the ending screen Erik will almost immediately suggest to check out a thing that sends you directly to the Act III stuff.

Over the years I've marked refrigerators as battery storage so I could have them next to my desk while in deployments.

I would always keep exactly one 1 AA in there.

In all seriousness keeping them cold would help them retain their charge, but would do nothing to restore a lost charge.
