What's more sketchy is that it comes less than than 48 hours after I unmatched with someone after they got really hostile because I wasn't interested and instead of ghosting was honest as always.

As much as I’d like a 5th wheel, pop ups apparently don’t really reduce your mileage all that much for electric vehicles which is huge.

Airstreams are an excellent alternative but a lot more expensive in comparison. I am going to upgrade the pop-up a bunch and we might get lucky selling it for a profit someday if we want to upgrade to an airstream.

As an aside, pop ups went severely out of style once SUVs became strong enough to pull trailers. But CA passed that electric car law, so I am hoping pop ups are going to increase in value once people can’t be pulling the big ones anymore.

We, thankfully, haven’t had any of the issues reported, but the truck has been in the shop for a month because someone hit it. Feelsbadman.

It’s going to Rivian next week for final adjustments to the repair and I think they plan on handling all the recall stuff when it’s there.

Yeah my parents had one too but then bought a motorhome as an upgrade.

My big motivation is having something that can heat/cool the space. Camping is severely alive and well in CA, and you can’t just “drive and find a site” like when I was a kid. Campgrounds sell out months in advance, and that’s been a killer for trying to plan for weather.

Last time we went camping for fun (vs. Cub Scout camping) was at a river and it ended up being 115 degrees. Our tent was a nightmare, and even my friends’ super intense cooler couldn’t keep the ice.

So having a heater/air conditioner and a mini fridge is huge.



We got an old 1996 one, which was actually much more efficiently laid out than the newer ones the place had. I liked it the most because it had a ton of cabinet space, and sleeps up to 9 people.

Full on looked like the people who owned it used it only a couple of times. The wood underneath the beds is immaculate.

Downside is it doesn’t have a toilet in it, but we are getting a 2-room standing tent, porta potty, and shower that we are going to just set up right outside it.
