Newcastle are the newest rich-Arab-owned club after recent years of having a cheap wanker of an owner fail to invest in the squad, infuriating supporters. Nowadays they have a decent young manager and are doing well so far this season. They may run out of magic trying to stay in the top 4, maybe not. Regardless fans are dreaming of Champions League next season right now.

yeah they won the Championship league title in 2017 to earn promotion back to the Prem. the names of the leagues are kinda wonky but such is English English

the Premier League might be an even better product with only 18 teams but it'll probably never happen. the Championship is an especially brutal league with 24 teams (46-game season) playing almost every midweek and weekend. other countries don't often put 24 teams in a league but England has lots of clubs
