there’s a part in The Toy where the nanny tells the kid (i don’t remember the exact quote) “you’re supposed to eat a little of your vegetables, then a little of your potatoes, then a little of your meat to aid in proper digestion. Not ALL the meat, then ALL the potatoes, then ALL the vegetables” and for some reason that quote randomly pops in my head sometimes when im eating
Opening up Facebook to people that didn’t have a valid college or university email address is one of the biggest mistakes in modern history and played a large part in making the world what it is today. We already saw the dumpster fire that was MySpace back then. A different social media platform might have eventually taken the role that FB did, but the boomers gaining access when they had no training or filters or safeguards to protect themselves from disinformation campaigns and brain rot helped propel us into this cycle of idiocy we now live in. Mark Zuckerberg is ultimately going to be viewed as the quintessential 21st century robber baron.
It’s probably more the unmitigated use of lead and asbestos until about the late 70s.
I’ve done the research.
Deleted mine for more than 5 years and then remade it last year. Hella tempted to get rid of it for good if I'm being real.
It's not just the boomers though. The zoomers (and sub-zoomers) are fucking insufferable.
Think of the most ridiculous and stupid hyper-exaggeration of how bad social media culture is. Something like the start of the Jumanji reboot, with the popular girl who spent 1hr getting ready for her fake "just woke up selfie."
I guarantee you HS kids today are worse than that. A large part of that is growing up on social media such that it's been ingrained into them that this stuff is what's important.
OFC trends and being popular and fitting in have always been a thing, but the social media version of it is so much worse.
everything about social media was mistake. only linkedin has something of a use
We peaked at phpBB 3.0.
i didn't say it was good use, but it's there
The problem with social media is it permits equal time and audience to morons and experts.
