The gap between generations is getting smaller as technology advances faster, but I agree even the youngest out there right now should still be the tail end of zoomer.

    So help me out…

Boomers: obviously the old white dudes from leave it to beaver who want to take shit back.

Millennials: last generation to play outside until America online let us download porn and Dragonball Z .avi clips.

Zoomers: social media and trying to go viral YouTube star generation?

Am I missing a group or is that it?

Just ignore everything except baby boomers. The rest is just sociology majors trying to be relevant.

Man I remember playing outside AND downloading Dragonball Z .avis. I remember finding a site where I could download episodes that had never been released in the U.S., but I would have to download one (which would take about 5-8 hours), watch it, and then delete it or there wouldn't be room on my hard drive for more.

Late Gen X/Early millennials also provide the key dividing line between people growing up with or without a home computer.

Ehh, there is validity in attempting to delineate the population based on formative societal trends. It's also more like gradients. It is possible to both be genx and a millennial. People like to pretend it's a hard line, but the tail end of gen x would remember bits of the cold war and would solidly remember a time before the ubiquity of the internet. Millennials are the generation that grew up with the internet, as such early millennials had the internet as a formative part of their late teens. Zoomers grew up in the shadow of 9/11 and sponge bob. I'm at a loss on where to put down the line for today's the broccoli haired teens but it's gotta be around 208-12 somewhere, they are the ones that were toddlers as social justice seemingly exploded as a cultural trend.

If you were born too late to remember what RealPlayer was, don't talk to me.

Gen X for real pulled that ultra-conservative heel turn.

RealPlayer and buffering, name a more iconic duo.

Winamp for music, RealPlayer for hentai, WMP for my anime

Even technically as a millennial (1983) I can remember watching the fall of the Berlin wall on TV. Didn't understand the significance but the memory is there.

Which means you're also gen x as far as I'm concerned. Like I said, gradient.

I'm still so surprised by people getting viruses. With the exception of the ONE time I purposefully infected a machine to see what it would do, I've never gotten on. To be fair, during a huge part of the wild west, I was maining debian or gentoo. I'd get on computers at various friend's and just be astonished. Toolbars. Popups. Ads on the fucking desktop active x shit just fucking the machine without lube.
