I'm still so surprised by people getting viruses. With the exception of the ONE time I purposefully infected a machine to see what it would do, I've never gotten on. To be fair, during a huge part of the wild west, I was maining debian or gentoo. I'd get on computers at various friend's and just be astonished. Toolbars. Popups. Ads on the fucking desktop active x shit just fucking the machine without lube.

When I worked at Fry's, we had a competition on who worked on the most virus infested computer.

Think the record was a browser that was almost 2/3 toolbars.

OG Wing Commander was the first game I ever played seriously. Then in middle school we had our computer lab loaded with Warcraft II and Duke Nukem 3D for after school LAN parties.

i cain't remember exactly but think first PC game was Lode Runner, maybe Warcraft 1. Marathon was around then as well. there was one very early CRPG that had a Roman fantasy vibe i've never ever been able to find again. haunts me.

I remember having classes in grade school with the "gifted" kids, so we got to use the computers for things like Number Muncher. Later we had something where you wandered around a mountain and solved point-and-click puzzles, and also the OG Carmen Sandiego game.
