So I see the news making the rounds is that Lizzo is a gigantic piece of shit and an outright awful human being.
I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.
Outside the educational computer games like Oregon Trail, Number Munchers, and Carmen San Diego the first PC games I played were on Lucas Arts point & click games. My mom was a teacher so the school got games sometimes if they had even a hint of educational value. There was a disc that had Monkey Island 1 & 2 as well as Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis. Now, being 11 or 12 and getting to spend all summer trying to complete those three in a pre-internet era was challenging. And I think definitively shaped my sense of humor.
I never beat Fate of Atlantis when it was originally out.
Can't remember what it was but just got massively stuck on some part I ended up going back and beating years later once walkthroughs were a thing
I also remember Sam & Max, and I know it referenced Day of the Tentacle but I never played that one.
Commander Keen son!!!
nay to them two, the issue is i can't remember shit about it other than the vaguest of CRPG standards like outfitting a party, finding Rome-esque equipment like pilum, slings, swords etc. fought dudes and maybe monsters? had to have been available on Mac in the 90s. i've tried a couple times but have so little to go on think it's lost to time and the effacement of memory. might've even found it at some point and not recognized it.
There was a really good remaster of Day of the Tentacle awhile back, absolutely recommend. You could probably beat it in a single afternoon/evening so maybe wait on a sale.
But all the old Lucasart point and click games were incredible.
Sam & Max Hit The Road
The Indiana Jones games
Monkey Island series
The Dig
Full Throttle
Grim Fandango
All just great great times.
no one mentioned gizmos n gadgets yet?
I still randomly quote both the original Sam & Max game and comics and maybe some day someone will actually get the reference.
Any Realmz heads in here? That game fucking ruled
the Myth series was my unloved jam that no one ever played, Soulblighter ruled
I played all the Myst games!!!
There was a parody game called Pyst, where it had a replica of the island and you could destroy shit to kinda vent when you got stuck in Myst.
I actually think my notebook for that game still exists in my mom’s house.
I miss games like that. Games of that genre are way too easy and the puzzles are just quick little things.
Edit: I meant to quote your other post where you said it.
They still exist. Y'all would just look up guides.
u don't know us
I promise you 20 mins into the new monkey island you'll realize "I ain't got time for this!"
