When I first got Disney plus I spammed through all the muppet movies, and by god did he do the best job possible as Long John and it's a fucking muppet movie.

On a note: no one I know has been successful getting their kids into the muppets. It's so sad ;_;

my uncle and his family have a tradition of watching muppets christmas carol every christmas day, and as a kid my dad used to wake me up with iguana and t-rex puppets so puppets/muppets have a special place in my heart.

ksan, you ever watch Farscape? It's a trippy/fun sci-fi show from the 2000s, but almost all the aliens are done by Jim Henson Co. You might like it. Fair warning: the first season is very episodic. That was still the norm for TV at the time.

I have! I used to watch it like crazy. I think I even have a bunch of VHS tapes somewhere.

I think the series went off the rails like the last 2-3 seasons, but otherwise a seriously solid sci-fi flick.


I'm down for a reboot if they do one.

Not surprising to be honest. Kids nowadays grew up in an environment where CGI is the norm and fail to see the charm in genuine puppetry and/or make up.

Yeah, true. It's funny because I am totally cool with them not liking anything we liked as kids, but something about not liking the muppets is a stab in the gut.

They even didn't like the new cg muppet babies.
