I mean they didn't when you think about it. They were getting toasted and only did okay because they were able to damage the fighter crafts.

It’s also kinda wild to watch Independence Day, Men In Black, Wild Wild West, Bad Boys thru today’s lense. They are probably Will Smith’s most iconic movie roles but definitely some of the worst acting of his career. He just got so much better as he aged.
