Is The Boys actually good or is it all just "LMAO we're edgelords." I ask because I read some of the comics like a decade ago and it was the standard Garth Ennis dogshit.

It’s absolutely fantastic. I didn’t read the comics but I love how they try to marry superheroes into how capitalism would interact with superheroes. The first episode won me over when they were talking about how different cities would bid on super heroes to come fight crime and rep their city like they were trying to attract a sports team to come to their town.

Never experienced this because we weren't assholes, and even if you were, like every VCR I remember owning would automatically rewind when playback ended.

I don't think lazy is the word. Using a rewinder requires marginally more effort but saves like a minute or some shit.

My parents would freak the fuck out and say that would wear out the tape and break it.


I know now they were wrong, but as a kid, I wasn’t about to do that.


I always rewinded before returning though out of fear they (parents) wouldn’t let rent again if they had to pay a fee.
