As I have said a bunch of times in other threads, I'm a conservator for my dad's estate and person. I guess I wasn't specific enough when submitting the accounting despite following the directions in the state's conservator handbook. So I gotta break down all the Costco and Amazon.com purchases, state whom they were for, and god knows what other hoops. I get it that the court wants to protect the well being and assets of the person, but even my dad is sad that I have to carry this burden.

But I have the weekend to finish this transcribing, itemization, and filling out the .pdfs to the court's satisfaction. Either I satisfy the court or I'm in contempt and I would pretty much lose my whole 401k account. Lawyer going to lay it out for me on Tuesday to see if the revisions are satisfactory.


edit: on this note, after my lawyer earlier this week told me to redo the accounting, dealing with work CoVID infections at work, other work stupidity, and general fatigue (haven't taken a day off for myself since July) I slept for 11 hours last night because I am just fucking tired of everything.

Jesus, I knew you were handling conservatorship for your dad, but didn't think the courts were that damn anal about knowing every single expense. My only experience with it was when my late father had to take over conservatorship of his deceased Aunt's estate after we discovered that the lawyer and the aunt's sister fraudulently had her will and trust changed when she was in the late stages of dementia and Alzheimer's.

I'm lucky in the sense that dealing with social security as my Aunt's Designated Payee, her social security payments alone don't even cover her rent, so every year I just have to write that 100% of it was applied to her rent at her assisted living home.

My dad can't write a will unless he wants to fork over $10k in fees lol. Lawyers said that it would be the default "liquidate everything and split evenly" which is good enough for us.

Also this is a new judge assigned to the court that I haven't met. The previous judge I liked. Ambidextrous. She had a weird quirk where she held pens in both hands and writes with whatever hand she wanted to at the time or sometimes both at once.

God damn, that is just absolutely insane. Shit I never knew. I know my dad's trust, though it was basic as shit (which makes my brother and mothers actions even more fucked up) was only I think like a couple hundred, then when he died my step mom paid like 4k for them to execute the trust.

Oh what your late father did was being the designated executor of the estate of a deceased. My dad hasn't had control of his body or assets since 1986 allegedly as part of his VA disability case. My mom was his conservator and apparently had to deal with the same shit as I did. But she was a CPA. I'm just a scientist with a BS in Biochem.

And the request to the court I would have to submit on his behalf is a Substituted judgment petition. The court fee is $10k. The lawyer fees would be a bunch taken out of my retainer. Even the handbook says I should not prepare the petition without a lawyer. Yea default asset division plz k thx.

Also I pay a bond premium annually. Break bond, RIP my 401k p much. ugh.

Nah it gets better... My home PC with everything I need to work on this went bsod loop and now doing a windows reinstall. Going to lose a full day dealing with this. Let's hope I remember to eat lunch today

Edit: Apparently I wasn't the only one having issues with the Corsair drivers. Ugh making me go through all this. No way in heck I could have isolated it to that driver.
