I'm so far behind but didn't become a wine snob until I was visiting Sonoma/Napa county on the regular. Sadly the town I've spent the last 6 years enjoying is changing rapidly so those small wineries I enjoyed and people I knew are moving onto different things.
But still can find some solid options.
I love all wine but Zin or Petite Syrah/Verdot are my go to reds in this area.

I used to also shit on beer until I realized local craft beer is so much different. Typically our Hazy IPA are great but my favorite are the kettle or imperial sours some specialize in here. Then we also have alcoholic slushies, spiked sodas made in house and seltzer that aren't white claw bullshit.

wine snobs are the worst followed by weed snobs followed by beer snobs. they're all awful though.

all the bougie trends in booze are the worst. natural wine is fucking disgusting. sour beer is absolutely disgusting. hard kombucha should be illegal.

i do like that some formerly high brow breweries are now like "i bet people want a good pilsner/lager beer because they're not fuckin nerds". our two local breweries finally listened and have made awesome non-ipa/fat people stouts this summer/fall. i can't be drinking fuckin 8% IPAs all day, it's gross.
