Trans social politics is weird for me because I'm simply not around trans people very often at all but I also really don't think it takes much of me to just be respectful and to keep my mouth closed at worse.
Plus one of my closest friends came out as trans and I had to tell em all of our pleasant memories didn't suddenly change just because you changed physically.
Really not hard to not be a ding-bat.
I've had a bunch of Indian men and Indian adjacent people tell me I look familiar and outside of possibly having Indian ancestry due to my Caribbean blood, I'm starting to get curious.
I think that is what everyone hopes for, but the mechanics of a relationship going forward seems to be dependent on the person's perspective on their transition. I've heard someone say that he looks at his life pre-transition as someone else's (specifically he called his pre-transition self "my lost sister").
I never asked for clarification for what that means for relationships and memories founded in the time before the transition, but it made me feel like I should avoid talking about shared memories and experiences from before his transition.
I actually fully understand what you mean when you say that. Once I made the joke to my homie that you never let me see your titties and he laughed, I knew we were cool.
i have 6 trans friends as far as i know and go along with whatever they are most comfortable with, though name changes will trip me up just cuz memory is shite. grandma's sister was trans back in the day as well, got no issues with em.
AG trying to convince me that beast from euphoria is attractive and passes will fill me with the most vitriolic trans hate i can fathom however.
i also ironically say yes sir to a lot of women and it has lead to some gaffes around a trans friend or 2 as i saw them as women before realizing what i said.
thankfully my friends arent faggots tho so it wasnt an issue
Similarly I call everyone dude, it might become a gaffe someday but oh well
dude is gender-neutral in California so it'll prolly be alright
that's why i call everyone bitch / puta / suka, truly the only gender neutral terms of our age
I really love how gender neutral bitch has become in my lifetime
