A bunch of incompetent people that were hired to sabotage a mission successfully sabotaged a mission with incompetence. The three smartest people got their shit pushed in.

the entire *fan* theory of vickers purposely sabotaging the mission doesn't even make sense. she is the current CEO of weyland, at a point in time where her father basically fucked the company's finances for his little pet project. it would behoove her to have a successful mission to save the company as CEO, nevermind wanting to have some baseline competence among her crew to actually make it back alive. her being just as stupid as everyone else is why it goes from being weyland to weyland yutani corp.

even at a basic level of character consistency the writing fails. biologist terrified of dead alien and runs away, fangirls over live one?

it's all dumb as fuck anyway and a movie that added nothing to the lore and only subtracted from it and gave us a senile ridley scott saying that david time traveled to the past to place that ship on nostromo for the first alien movie

As many issues as Prometheus had it doesn't remotely compare to the sci fi equivalent of the OJ Simpson bronco chase

I’ve come around just a tiny bit on TLJ in that some of the ideas they offered could have worked if paid off properly in the Rise of Skywalker ie

No Emperor resurrection, Kylo Ren is irredeemable space Hitler who kills both his parents with no remorse and is even more butthurt because Rey refused to join him

Rey’s parents really were nobodies and the idea that anyone can have the Force and/or be the hero

Snoke in the grand scheme of things was no one of value, just the next powerful Sith after the emperor died but wasn’t significant in any way

There was no evil armada with every ship being equipped with a Death Star beam, just a bigass First Order fleet that Kylo commandeered in his hubris

The things I still can’t reconcile is the entirely pointless hour long plus segment on the casino planet/space chase/mutiny plotline
