Rise of Skywalker would have been good as two movies, where the first half replaced TLJ and then the second half was the actual conclusion. But it basically wasted half the time just resetting TLJ then rushed an ending which had no narrative build up

the entire *fan* theory of vickers purposely sabotaging the mission doesn't even make sense. she is the current CEO of weyland, at a point in time where her father basically fucked the company's finances for his little pet project. it would behoove her to have a successful mission to save the company as CEO, nevermind wanting to have some baseline competence among her crew to actually make it back alive. her being just as stupid as everyone else is why it goes from being weyland to weyland yutani corp.

even at a basic level of character consistency the writing fails. biologist terrified of dead alien and runs away, fangirls over live one?

I wonder if a person scorned by her father in control of a company in name only would have resentment towards the person that actually has said power. I wonder if someone can be terrified of something existential and come around given a few hours to think on it.

I'd assume he's specifically talking about the sequel trilogy and not the other movies post Disney, which is not an overly wrong statement.

Force Awakens was a complete rehash of New Hope. Depending on how one feels about the movie's complete lack of originality I could see how one decides that TLJ is better.

The entire trilogy is awful though, Rogue One aside the Disney Star Wars movies have been ass.

rise of skywalker was flat out bad. i saw it once and have absolutely no desire to see it again, so much so that i don’t even remember a lot of the major plot points. and i don’t even care that i don’t remember

TLJ and even Prometheus can be absurd funny enough where I’ll at least watch them again, and like cail said the hyperdrive collision is at least cool/funny enough
