but assuming we add a qualifier like professional sports people actually watch and have an opinion about, exempli gratia the NBA, 450 players from a population pool well over 450 million when you combine the populations to throw up a player, easily get to 1 million people to produce 1 professional athlete in all the major sports leagues

i'd say the most rare athletic traits in sports are probably olympic sprinters, nba power forwards, and nfl three techniques (pass rushing dts). those traits don't just grow on trees. white people got phased out once we found these peeps.

PLAYERS IN A DEFENSELESS POSTURE

It is a foul if a player initiates unnecessary contact against a player who is in a defenseless posture.

Players in a defenseless posture are:
A player in the act of or just after throwing a pass (passing posture)
A receiver attempting to catch a pass who has not had time to clearly become a runner. If the player is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player
The intended receiver of a pass in the action during and immediately following an interception or potential interception. If the player is capable of avoiding or warding off the impending contact of an opponent, he is no longer a defenseless player.

Note: Violations of this provision will be enforced after the interception, and the intercepting team will maintain possession.
A runner already in the grasp of a tackler and whose forward progress has been stopped
A kickoff or punt returner attempting to field a kick in the air
A player on the ground
A kicker/punter during the kick or during the return (Also see Article 6(h) for additional restrictions against a kicker/punter)

you can't touch a guy snapping the ball on any kick. and once the ball is snapped the ball is kicked within a second and going the other direction

that's not even an egregious example but longsnappers get jostled and weight put on them by humungous dudes on most long snaps my dude idk how anyone with eyes can pretend otherwise
