This is basically the reality tv series Alone.

Really dope and crazy interesting. They take 10 contestants and drop them off in some incredibly remote location all individually on their own. Last person standing wins. Some of them go months and it’s always amazing how creative they get with building their shelter, obtaining food, etc.

The season the wifey and I just finished watching the winner pretty much cruised to a victory because he was able to hunt and kill a moose. So he had 100s of pounds of meat for sustenance lol.

There was another instance where some dude built a boat and was able to go into deeper waters for fish.

It's more than that TV writing has gotten significantly better on average. People keep expecting shit to be breakneck like the later seasons of Breaking Bad. They'd whine about how slow the wire is if it were released today.

i remember the fanbase throwing a bitchfit over the Fly ep of Breaking Bad, modern audiences would not be able to handle how slow and meandering The Wire and The Sopranos got at times

Side effect of the absolute reduction of content. If you spend 2 eps in a 22 ep season doing character work or otherwise not pushing the plot it's more accepted than when seasons are 8 episodes long.

We get what we pay for, and we're paying for far less television nowadays.

coupled with the measurable decline in attention spans in general you got a lot of miserable surface-level discourse flying around from audiences that see everything that doesn't advance the plot as filler

One of my shows got to interview last season’s winner and he was asked if he ever felt like hitting the “I Quit” button and he said only once, when it was brutally cold and his sleeping bag was not rated to handle the cold he faced that night. He said he had hot rocks that he placed in the bottom of his bag to keep his feet warm and felt his life may legitimately be in danger but he also realized it would take them at least 8-10 hours to reach him for evac and he may be dead by then anyway so he soldiered on. Eventually ended up winning.

The plot's driving force is a love story which comes down to Shiro being obsessed with a girl he met for all of twenty minutes.

For a franchise whose central theme is the brutality of war, that is a weak point. Other series have done the humanizing the other side take on war much better (0080 being the best of them, which is why it's S Tier)

IBO and G Gundam are A tier but Wing is C? Gfdi gree

IBO is the best and most original narrative take on the child soldier narrative between it, Wing, and SEED.

Wing by far has the best mech designs, but Wing is a bad rehash of the UC trinity (0079 OYW, Zeta, and CCA). That's also why SEED suffered in my rankings because it's a bad rehash of Wing (Lacus is Relena +2)

G Gundam gets its ranking for being unique. The series should be evaluated according to how well it accomplishes what it aspires to be, which means the campiness isn't bad. And if you like the team dynamic of Wing, G Gundam did it first and leaned much more heavily into the fact it was boyband inspired.

Bruh I can't be the only one to notice this but like all the Home Depots in FL have gangs of like 4-5 Mexican day laborers just chilling in the parking lot ready to be paid cash under the table. It's like in Assassin's Creed games when you hire mercenaries to distract the guards for you while you go do the objective. Except my objective is sitting my ass on the couch in the air conditioning.
