Completely agree. Though in fairness to the Pratt thing, I don’t think I can associate anyone else as Garfield outside of Lorenzo Music and he died like 20 years ago. They would needed to get someone like Dan Castellaneta who can mimic voices or something. And they’d never do that if they have a bigger name who will.

Only cartoon voice change I think I could swallow were Chip n’ Dale, but I think that is simply because that movie was so insanely well done that it’s given a pass.

I had to rewatch the trailer, as I never saw that one. He sounds better than Pratt, but eh not great. (Again just based on the trailer.)

That reminded me why I never watched it, though. Animation and character design looks god awful.

I think that was the era, too, of constantly shoving animated characters into the real world so they can make a mini romcom with the real characters.

I looked up the trivia on the film and apparently the voice actors for Liz and Odie have been the same since the 80s and this recent movie is the first time they didn’t voice those characters, and weren’t even asked to.
