i go in for my end of year review. higher ups review our grades. they ask about students who are failing, this student comes up. they review his work and agree he doesn’t pass.
i mention he failed the class before and he is a student athlete (not to get him pity, it came up in conversation about the student and his work ethic). almost immediately, the person reviewing my grades goes “oh. well if he’s a student athlete and he’s already failed the class before, let’s not ruin his eligibility, if he showed up to every class and did all the work like your records indicate, let’s just give him a C”
