Saw a random clip from the Daytona 500 and it unlocked a memory from being a kid and one of my Game Boy games was a NASCAR game. I didn't even like NASCAR, nor did I understand anything about racing games. I just remember playing the game running the throttle max every race and it'd always be like a 50% chance if you'd win or your engine would blow up. I probably played that exact same game the exact same way for several years in the backseat of the car on roadtrips and never learned anything about racing other than sometimes car go ka-boom.
