I think the calm, relaxing zen like soundtrack to Dire Dire Docks in SM64 was a direct response to the anxiety ridden HOLY SHIT YOU’RE GONNA DROWN music in Sonic
I should’ve gotten a PlayStation portal sooner. This thing is amazing.
TIL Power Rangers Turbo’s sentai counterpart actually had a sixth ranger. The character was completely unadaptable because of its magical girl motif.
Dreamt is the only word in the English language that ends with mt.
Prefixes dont count.
It seems like most RPGs let you have 3 or 4 party members active at once but some go up to 5 or 6. I wonder what the balance calculus behind that is, especially in more recent games where they let you switch out to your unused members on the fly.

I want to say it was Breath of Fire IV(?) that had a boss battle where you were basically forced to sacrifice your initial starters and play with the backups.
Anyways, that and FFX party swap on the fly style were always better than other games where characters just stayed unused. C33’s style was pretty dope too. Go blow yourself up and save us all Maelle.
i can only bite my tongue so hard over here guys
The X-Com tutorial was basically the game's way of saying "yo you are gonna lose people, don't get too attached to them"
i grew up on CRPGs that established 6 as the default party size, the standard 3/4 of JRPGs and CRPGs like Dragon Age always felt kinda limited. in Clair, Metaphor, and Rebirth feels p much perfectly balanced around that tho. FFX party swap was a dope way around the limitations as well.
I’m not sure to be honest. I saw there’s a super boss so maybe I’ll try that out.
