The 90's wasn't too terrible, USSR had collapsed, everything was kinda in a holding pattern.
Price increases hadn't quite hit stride, you could still maybe afford an education or home.
And while the republican revolt hit midway, they hadn't reached widespread full batshit dickhead.
I was a freshman in HS on 9/11; I specifically remember having a math test that day and someone asking for him to delay the test and my math teacher saying "If we don't learn math, the terrorists win."
And I do think we grew up in simpler times.
Democracy promotion, while having negative effects, at least had noble aims (if not intertwined with capitalistic exploitative ones at the same time). Trump cronyism is far worse. Moreover while the sickness that allows it to flourish can be explained by mere human stupidity, examining how it all came down is pretty complex.
We also have the cancer of social media and AI.

The term “hanging up” the phone doesn’t make much sense in a world where very few landlines exist. As we move more and more into a world where everything is a cell phone, I wonder if the phrase will be phased out and replaced with something else, or is it too ingrained in our culture to change?

One of the first things I do before starting a new game is google if there are missable achievements or trophies because I’m not usually wanting to drop 20 hours or more on a replay for my completionist lizard brain to check that box
