The first one was carried by Jeremy Blaustein's translation and voice direction. There's a reason the releases with newly recorded dialogue are disliked.

The metal gear franchise is basically a military anime that you play. When you approach the series from that point of view, it actually makes sense and is entertaining. Some of the writing is still bonkers, but at least you see where they're coming from.

If you're gonna play MGS, play 1 and 3. If you like cuhrayzee games Rising is woefully mediocre. DMC 3, 4 and Bayonetta 1 and 2 do it better. It has not excuse to be worse than DMC 3, 4 and Bayonetta.

The gameplay is paper thin and the music is dogshit. However, HOWEVER, the gameplay combined with the music created a thing that was bigger than the sum of its parts. Still not a good game, but better than it should be on paper.

No BoF character ever made it into MvC, and they couldn't even be fucking bothered to let them into Namco x Capcom or the two Project X Zone games.

Like, if you did ANYTHING with the IP, ok, hold onto it.
