Also you can see how the purity culture has heavily influenced their politics. Online leftist are going harder on Mamdani than any republican or conservative. Like that's insane to me. Americans, especially privileged individuals treat oppression as a fun thing to cosplay. Which is why I routinely call out white women in America. The way they weaponize their privilege with oppression has been noted and talked about when intersectionality comes up and a lot of cishet men dont understand just how deeply ingrained into society treating white women in America as the perpetual victims that need to be saved, protected and believed above all else.

I can tell you that every teacher I know who's been at this longer than me thinks the kids are getting worse, not better.

College Board changed the AP tests because rural and inner city schools were doing so bad at them.

The result is that the tests are just easier because that's what is necessary for students with less resources to be able to compete.

The pass rates went up from mid 50's to mid 70's because writing exams focus heavily on just having correct format without good content.

For example you get a point for your thesis, points for topic sentences, points for evidence, etc. There is only a single point awarded for "complexity." So the strategy is to write the most banal crap possible to just score up the rubric.

We are literally dumbing things down in the name of equity. We can talk about causation all we want, but we will never fix the problem when we don't acknowledge that achievement gaps represent real differential in talent (whether innate or realized).
