Wife obsesses over thread count and all that. I don't give a shit. I will give her this, brushed cotton sheets are absolutely GOATED in winter!

Anything over 400 and I'm comfortable. Back when I worked at bed bath & beyond I really kept up with the sheets business, but nowadays they got so many better cotton blends and knitting patterns that imo thread count isn't the be all end all it used to be. I've felt recent 700tc sheets that felt worse than a better designed 400tc sheet.

Higher tc sheets do wear better in my experiences though, so there's that.
