Calgary, which has the largest indigenous community living off-reservation in Canada by far, has had the largest amount of protestors in Canada that I've heard of (thousands). They're been marching for 3 days now. Cops issued this statement yesterday:

Most unions I’ve dealt with just reshuffle the troublesome employee within the department. Sans an illegal act, it takes an act of god to fire someone no matter how incompetent they are.

Only saving grace is when you present them with a stack of negative counselings, they move the individual usually within the week.

I was talking to Astylla the other day, asking who her Captain and Lieutenant are. I mentioned the name of one of my Captains, she asked me to spell it, and then replied that it made so much more sense now why this one person was re-assigned to the job so boring we hope you quit post over sexual harassment allegations.

Touting new jobs numbers, Trump says strong economy will quell protests and racial divide

President Trump on Friday said a sudden rebound in hiring could somehow address racial tensions in the United States, suggesting that he doesn’t believe more structural changes might be needed to deal with protests throughout the United States.

“It’s the greatest thing that can happen for race relations, for the African-American community, for the Asian American, for the Hispanic-American community, for women, for everything,” Trump said. “Because our country is so strong. And that’s what my plan is. We’re going to have the strongest economy in the world.”

He also went as far as to suggest that George Floyd, a black man killed by a Minneapolis police officer, would be happy with the jobs report, remarks that could inflame Trump’s critics who have alleged Trump has not taken the issue seriously enough.

Jaguars hold own protest against inequality, police brutality in march to sheriff's office

The Jacksonville Jaguars held their own protest Friday against inequality and police brutality, marching from their stadium to the steps of the local sheriff's department.

"Today we say no more," wide receiver Chris Conley said. "Today we see a nation that can't await change, a city that won't sit still or be quiet."

Players were joined by their families, coach Doug Marrone and general manager Dave Caldwell. The Jaguars started their march at 9:04 a.m. local time to signify the local 904 area code.

The protest came two days after owner Shad Khan spoke against racism in a letter on the team website. He promised then the franchise would work toward a "timely response.''
