The problem with that is the people in power see budget as their power. Lowering that budget, even if it is for the benefit of their co-workers, they see as losing power. I can't tell you how much fucked up shit I've seen in the government and the people that perform it, just to increase that fucking number.

While we're on the topic of fucked up budgets.

So when I was still a carpenter I literally built buildings at Ft Bragg that we were aware would be destroyed as soon as we were done and rebuilt so that they use all of their budget in fear that if they don't, their budget will be decreased.

EVERYONE on these projects knew it.

Shit like that is also a key variable in fixing our shit too. The millions and millions of dollars wasted, intentionally, could obviously be redirected to better causes.

yeah that's standard in federal budgets. you don't spend it in current year, your next year's budget will get cut. it's fucking retarded. i've never heard of an example of quite such dumbfuckery as that though. i've seen plenty of stupid shit. it's not like there's not enough at bragg that didn't need renovations and new structures, at least the last time i was there in 2000.

I.e. When I was working for Firestone on post we sold 5-6 tires with rims a week to soldiers who kept hitting the same pothole (it was about 2'x2'x2'). They'd dump gravel in it every 2 weeks. They're STILL doing that and it's been 2 years.

There's a massive area with about 30 buildings that are so run down, they can't even use them for storage.

But they keep building, demolishing, building, demolishing, etc in the same spots.

A cop subreddit was linked on discord the other night asking how would cops feel if they scaled back QI and lowered funding.

At my time of reading the 300+ responses of verified LEOs it was 100%, and that is not hyperbole, 100% made up of comments to the effect of "well I'd never respond to an active call ever again. Let them fend for themselves" and worse, of course.

Apparently Zealot should be a cop because the ones we have really do need to be thrown out with the bathwater.
