Don’t watch Fox News usually, so not sure who this guy Jesse is, but...

It was quite jarring, to hear the black president, talk about how racist the country is. That elected him twice. And he was there for 8 years, and this country is still racist. It’s systematically racist. Not sure what that means.

It means 30%+ of the population are still mongoloids with enough sway to make bad shit happen.

Found a video of it. Crazy shit. So much wasted food, water, and supplies.

Also a report and extended video of it and the aftermath, can't embed the video though.

I think a lawyer said it will most likely be a moot point. From what I recall they did security at the same place but no proof if they worked together or not. Even if they did I'm not all sure what they could establish

Re: spousal and child abuse from cops

I'm for getting them psychiatric help, but I'm also for charging them criminally along the EXACT same statutes that a normal citizen would be held to. The law does not make allowance for domestic abuse due to increased stress from work for doctors, firefighters, military, or any high stress / high danger job. None, whatsoever.

If a charge of assault would be filed for a citizen it should be filed for a cop. Period. You don't get to traumatize and brutalize your family because you had a hard day at work.

The unions not bailing them out would be a statement.

There was a time when unions we’re about the people. We owe a lot to them. But in recent years, they have done very little to help the “worker.”

It’s time for unions to be abolished or some major changes to them.

In all these explanations for the President walking to the church, I haven’t heard them try to say how they planned on getting there without moving all the protestors. Even moving the line a block away to wear it is now, the church is still behind the line where all the protestors are.

The head of the union has already come out with a statement saying they are going to go to the ends of the earth to defend these officers. They even say that if they are not formally charged the union will fight for them to be reinstated.

Calling for the abolishment of unions entirely over this is one of the more scathing (and ridiculous) takes I've seen so far

I'm not sure how it works in the US but in Ontario the Employment Standards Act (ESA) supersedes any and all union Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) in the province. In fact our CBAs need to be sent to the Ministry of Labour of Ontario and signed off on to even become a viable document. Unions haven't been necessary in a hundred years. Nowadays they just wash money for the mob.

Cop unions are bad, but most of the rest are good, and the huge chasms in American income inequality we've opened in the past 40 years can be directly attributed to the decline in union membership.

Really wouldn't surprise me. I've seen people want to build unions just because of political differences of all things.

Former president Barack Obama, in his first public remarks since protests over racial injustice erupted across the country, offered an optimistic perspective on the civil unrest, urged mayors to enact policing reforms and reminded young people of color: “your lives matter.”

Obama called the events of the last week “as profound as anything that I’ve seen in my lifetime.” The confluence of the coronavirus pandemic’s disparate effect on black communities and the killing of George Floyd, a black man, by a police officer, who is white, exposed America’s systematic racial inequities, he said.

Yet, in the protests, Obama said he saw Americans awakening to the challenges and fears black Americans endure. He saw young people, who have led nearly every major social change, mobilizing for a more just society. And he saw demonstrators from many races coming together to create that change.

“When sometimes I feel despair I just see what’s happening with young people all across the country ... and it makes me feel optimistic. It makes me feel as if, you know, this country is gonna get better,” said the nation’s first African American president.

Obama made his remarks during a virtual town hall hosted by his nonprofit, My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, which aims to fill the opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color.

The former president also spoke directly to young people of color, invoking his own daughters.

“I want you to know that you matter. I want you to know that your lives matter, that your dreams matter," he said. “And when I go home and I look at the faces of my daughters, Sasha and Malia, and I look at my nephews and nieces, I see limitless potential ... to flourish and thrive.”

I've actually been part of CBA negotiations on both sides of the table. I'm probably a decent guy to talk to about the subject.
