Police Reform - Don't Be A Karen About It

Nobody has said that, labeling a terrorist group for what it is, is not the same as saying your lives don't matter. I would wager the majority of people in this country are AGAINST those riots and violence and looting. They are also 100% against what the cop did.

You only see what the media is sensationalizing or those radicals in blue states. Look at all the posts between these few threads, all people postings videos of x white person did this or x cop did this. You never see the opposite side (which is rarely EVER reported on, even outside this case) and its all biased. You have multiple black leaders telling you THIS IS NOT THE WAY, yet you have radicals posting "ACAB" and justifying the violence of these riots.

The logical conclusion is that this will NEVER happen instantly or as fast as people want. Systemic racism and violence does not disappear overnight. You really think these riots are helping the cause? I can guarantee you, the people who hated them before, hate them ever MORE now. Right after a pandemic you have people looting and they see those videos of the towns put up in fire and business being robbed and your average voter does not like it.

Peaceful protest, pushing for reform and understanding, no race baiting, there are TONS of methods to help change the situation, rioting is not gonna force anyone to change their minds. You might change the mind of some weak politician who bends and gives piecemeal, but the cops will remember this and the public when it comes time to vote. This won't bring the immediate change the radicals want because nobody changed their way of thinking.

Police forces aren't unionized in the same way American cops are. It's pretty fucking rare when a cop fucks up and aren't punished for it mang. Dudes get charged with manslaughter up here pretty regularly

I was part of a union a couple of years ago, its almost impossible to fire someone from that without tons of evidence and its always a fight. They fired those cops pretty quickly but those unions they all stick up for each other like some cult and they are always disgruntled, just what I realized. I wouldn't say its a good idea to abolish unions because they do a lot of good for people in those line of work as far as protection. It might do with some reform though.
