I haven't finished the game so I suppose I should jump back into that.

I got maybe 2/3 thru this game and then started playing God of War and now Elden Ring and I don’t know if I have it in me to go back to finish the end of Horizon lmao
Had gotten the platinum trophy. Hope I didn’t start a new game.
Horizon was solid. Not as good as Zero Dawn, but that was such a stupidly high bar to begin with imo.
Agreed, Zero Dawn was a masterpiece and I didn't really enjoy where the story went either. Didn't plan on the DLC at all, but honestly I kind of want to now since Sylens (Lance Reddick) died IRL. I hope his character is heavily involved.
I thought the story was fine. I was more annoyed by them taking away my ability to booby trap the fuck out of enclosed areas.
Forbidden West has a limit on the # of tripwires/etc. that can be placed at one time. It's pretty low, like... 4?
I was fine not using them as much, but by midgame I basically stopped using them altogether. My issue was that I'd have like an elemental bow that had 4 different types, but would be missing the one that I wanted the most. So I'd end up carrying 2 bows of the same type and then I've got the spike launcher + 1 other thing, and there's no room to remember certain other weapons.
Aw man, that's too bad. I used to love creating minefields, especially when fighting bots I was a little too weak for.
They kinda balance it out by giving new toys and weapons to play with. In fact I’m pretty sure it was intentionally done that way to get you to experiment with new stuff instead of playing it exactly like the first game.
any time a game tells you don't play the way you want to play this way instead is an L imo
Or they didnt want people cheezing every fight by laying down a bazillion traps.
Why do they care if people cheez a single player game?
They have a certain amount of difficulty to want to maintain within the game?
Every game played by speedrunners is shit. Heard it here first.
I don’t mind speedruns without exploits but people who claim they beat games in four minutes or whatever because they found a bug that takes them to the end if they go in the menu and hit circle square up down up down fifteen times or whatever, get the fuck outta here with that
Where do you draw the line? Like yeah, there’s the obvious ones that let you skip 90% of the game, but what about things like hopping on terrain that’s incredibly difficult to do, but if you jump the exact right way and land on an exact right spot getting you past an area. Or what about something like walking faster backwards than you do forward, which was very likely unintentional. Personally, I also find the heavy-glitch exploit speedruns unfun to watch, but I do like watching All Bosses Defeated speedruns for soulsborne games.
Anyway, nothing stopping you from putting more things down after. Instead of just aggroing something and hiding in a corner/running laps in an area, you'll occasionally have to stop for a second to put a new tripwire or whatever down. I was just bad at getting robots to cooperate when I'd set traps for them, which was probably as much of a reason why I did those less as the cap on them.
