The inventory is actually much improved, just slightly annoying. My mention about constrained inventory was totally aimed at the first game. Your bag can only hold x amount of whatever material, but anything looted over that amount gets thrown into your stash which you access in settlements/towns. You can just hold square once you open it and it'll auto fill your inventory with the max amount of everything. So far for me, it's only really come into play when I got about half a dozen weapons to upgrade and needed to go refill after fully upgrading like 5 of them. Beyond that, you can happily loot thousands (I assume? I've got like 900 in the stash) of drift wood without worrying that you've clogged your inventory.

One area that seems to have taken a big step back concerning inventory is potions. You can only hold 4 total potions, not 4 of each, just 4 period. It can be upgraded, but idk how far. I'm at 5 right now, I'd assume maybe 8-10 total? Still annoying to have to pick if you want all health potions, or if you wanna eat up those valuable slots with situational status potions. Elemental stuff seems a lot more fleshed out, so maybe the mid to late potion game is also fleshed out. Right now, my choices are a weak health potion, one that bumps overdraw damage (dunno what that is), and one that clears elemental effects and gives you resistance for like 30 seconds.

Haptics aren't ground breaking, but they're fine. You can feel the notching/full pull of a bow, different resistances depending on the weapon, and you get some decent feedback when you're in the stealth grass. It's not Astro's Playroom levels of immersion, but it's par for the course. The controller's speaker gets a full work out though, they did good with it, with all sorts of effects being echoed or enhanced through it.

Oh cool. The stash thing sounds like a good step. By midway through the first game I got to be pretty active about making space in inventory before setting out to do things. Nice to know that wouldn't be so necessary, at least not frequently.

Quick question, if you’ve completed the first game does having a save file help you at all, or do you start from scratch regardless?

Anyone else get crazy lag fighting the first Tideripper on ps5?

edit: killed the machine and restarted my ps5 and the problem went away. The post-fight NPC's were in the wrong spot and wound up moving when I restarted the game. Weird.

Well, I got stuck trying to climb a wall 2 min after patching the game, so that was hilarious. Didn't have any visual issues yet

    Sounds spooky lol
Also sounds like this was a really broken game and I got lucky I hadn’t run into any game-ending bugs.

There's so many that get released in far worse shape to call this "really broken" IMO.

Yeah, calling it broken is nowhere close to reality.

I read at least two progression-ending bugs in the prologue. Not the greatest, certainly.

Glad I turned on the climbing guiding stuff without needing to ping. So much better.

Marathoned this hard to get to Elden Ring asap, doing most side quests (not sure if I missed some, never got any trophy for that but didn't check if there's one), took me 58 hours. The locations are simply breathtaking at times. I enjoyed the story for what it was, I remember reviewers complaining it got too hard on s-f, but I didn't mind that.

So far- and I’m not very far- the normal gameplay is very easy. But bosses are a pain in the ass.
    Spoiler: show
Regalla’s side kick who challenges you wasn’t terrible, but the next boss I fought was the Eclipse dude with the cat and I died three times to him despite clearing out the entire camp with absolutely no trouble. Then I did the Mu core, which again, I took everything out easy peasy, until I got to the double Widemaws who killed me 4 times. Shit. If I didn’t have the explosive spear thing, I don’t want to think about how many more times I’d have died.

Also, if I have one phobia, it’s a fear of big open vast bodies of water. Not like looking at them of on a boat on them, but imagining myself being in the deep darkness without any clue what’s around me and those underwater sections really get me anxious lol

You're not gonna like one of the story missions then.

Can you sell me on those spears? I've tried them, but they just felt underwhelming IMO, really slow and not much damage. Them and the shredder gauntlets feel like cool additions, but I just don't get their benefits when compared to the bows or slings.

Enemy aggression is cranked to 11. I think I died once to that boss cause the guy shot me and the ravager pounced me during the hit stun. Around that point, I began using status effects on just about every enemy beyond the basic ones just for the 5~10 second stun effect. Acid and fire tend to be my go tos because I've got bows with really high build up on them.

While I didn't use them that much, explosive spears were great to remove armor late in the game. Especially after apply acid.

Maybe because I’m still early game, but those explosive spears are doing a lot of damage for me, especially for those widemaws, who stand still and open their mouths- with their weak spot inside. For fast moving enemies it’s not that great, like for cult boy and dog, it was less effective on the dog than the guy who moved slow. I hit him with a few of those and it just annihilated his armor. Honestly, I’m a huge fan so far. I’d use it more if ammo resource for it wasn’t so scares atm (also of it didn’t destroy materials on the machines) so I just use it for boss fights or a really tough enemy.
