I've had to go to the bible belt states quite a bit past two or so years before the pandemic for work ( redoing an entire ISP infrastructure from a shithole sucks btw ) and the amount of druggies and meth heads I have seen has totaled more than any other state I have lived in. Texas is starting to get like that as well in the more rural areas (anything outside of San Antonio, Austin and Dallas).

Fish, Hunt, 4 Wheeling, Camping, actually see the stars, go to the friday night highschool football game, yard sales, cookouts, shoot guns, bike rides, cake walks at the local fire dept, skating in the church parking lot, walk out front door without getting shot, so on and so forth, cant wait to leave this fuckin city

the show/movie was popular because life is exactly like that for many people

i know it doesnt quite compare to looking out your window and seeing a target burning down or a toddler getting shot in a drive by but i found it to be alright

So yes I bet there are plenty of people out there that we would consider living a relatively clean life who also are still doing drugs.


That’s why we need more funding in drug rehab, not prisons, to help them get past that final step.
