Civilian on civilian crime is actually part of the issue. I just don't get why the left goes crazy over people that are confirmed criminals but nothing is sad about black people that are dying unjustly every day. It just seems incredibly hypocritical to me. Do those people honestly believe that the police are the only issue for black individuals atm? It goes deeper than that.

Pretty sure people have been trying to get better funding for education, higher wages for jobs, decriminalization for some current minor crimes, assistance for homeless people, low-income/actual housing options, and better treatment & equality in the workplace, among other things, for a long time now which are some of the other issues that black individuals and everyone else face. That would help lower crime rates in the long run since people that feel they are in a good place don't normally resort to crime.

The guy was RESISTING arrest and assaulted officers and then armed himself. How do you consider that a model citizen? What exactly are the cops meant to do in such a situation with someone so aggressive? If they let him go he could have simply killed someone on his druken rage and that would hang over the cops head. They tried peaceful tactics for 25m talking to him, they tried a tazer and he still resisted every step of the way. I don't get how you can make this so cut and dry and simply say its murder, the reason he got fired was probably to avoid any rioting again. Why are criminals consistently elevated to such platforms in the eyes of the left? They even do "who was x person" stories and conveniently leave out the fact they were criminals. I came into the thread to say they should focus on the people like David, who is a part of the problem right now that black individuals are facing. Sure, the police need to stop killing people and so do other people who are killing people and committing hate crimes. Something the left never advocates for or shows enough spotlight on.

Yes, a tazer that can't penetrate Kevlar, wielded by a drunk that couldn't pass a sobriety check, and shot in the back. Those officers for sure were in some mighty high danger I might say.

So you're saying he deserved to be shot and there was absolutely no other way the police could have handled that? No other way at all? Cause I can show you plenty of incidents where a white guy actually beat up a cop or a passerby, even stole their car, and yet somehow didn't get filled with bullets. The fact that in your mind the guy went from resisting arrest to him somehow going on to murder someone else is a real wtf too.

Draylo, we have a justice system for a reason. Cops should be allowing for due process whenever possible. They are completely skipping all steps and going to an extreme and sadly very permanent verdict. Who fucking cares if the dude ran off? Where was he gonna go? He left his car. They had all the info.

And hell, maybe if they deescalated the situation, he wouldn’t have been so scared to leave to begin with.

Cops are taught that people better do what their told or they can do w/e the fuck they want if people don’t. Then you have the racist part of black people can’t do anything to be considered “doing what they are told.” The system s completely broken.
