Its an uncomfortable topic, ya'll ain't ready to have that discussion without it devolving into whatabout after whatabout, and I'm not saying that about just you all responding to me, some of the more "Right leaning" BG people would kill that thread too. The only place it could exist for more than an hour is in spam and that'd go about was well as you think.

I think it would just be a fairly dead thread. Whats to discuss? Black on black violence is already illegal. We should fund better education and stop locking people up for weed so we don't have as many single parent families or kids on the streets.

When were they fucking ever allowed to thrive? When were they ever left alone or given the same opportunities to thrive? It wasn't in the 1700's, it wasn't in the 1800's, it wasn't in the early 1900's; it certainly wasn't in the 1940's or 50's. I can't recall hearing or reading about it in the 60's or 70's. Reagan made sure it wasn't in the 80's. Was it the 90's? The 00's? Was it in the last decade?

...honestly, yes. Decriminalize stupid drug crimes and invest in social programs (like paying teachers better, funding schools better, providing after school programs, providing counseling, outreach programs, etc, etc) in those communities. Would most definitely see a decrease

A big factor in this is what I mentioned above, how well funded and supported predominantly black communities are compared to predominantly white communities.

Same thing for new immigrants. Studies in Canada show that immigrants embraced and welcomed into communities, given opportunities to be educated (not indoctrinated, but like, learn English if they don't know it) and contribute, always always end up having a positive influence on both the immigrant's integration and on the community as a whole. It's when they're basically added in without any sort of help or inclusiveness that you typically get the "immigrants are scary and bad" outcomes.

We say people which could be construed in a broad way, but let's be real, it's only a very select, very obvious "superior" group of people that think like that. But they have loud voices and one of them is your President, so it's hard not to notice them

More than one is enough distinction to shift it from person to people if we really want to play the semantics game. Fame of the person spewing the message doesn't matter.

Either way, being a cop comes with a purpose that has been twisted and corrupted over time thanks to the power it confers. If they don't want their bad reputation, then maaaaaybe they should do something about what's causing it.

The purpose of the comment wasn’t to suggest that these two things happening wouldn’t be contributing factors but that these two alone also wouldnt solve the entire problem. The stance of, let’s not make a thread about it because it would be solved too easily, or it isn’t worth taking about, is preposterous.
