When our parents' generation says ignorant shit about "Antifa", I kind of understand why they are confused because national organizations back in their day had an actual reporting structure to some national HQ that tried to homogenize the message they were sending.

However, the very-online BG crowd really has no excuse. Modern Antifa in practice has the same national structure as Anonymous and a similarly inconsistent ideology. The only thing you know for sure if you see someone self-identifying as Antifa is that they are a liberal shit-stirrer and that only makes them good when compared to the variety of "3%er"-ish conservative shit-stirrers. I'd rather we have neither side, but instead we have both.

antifa is certainly a group, maybe no organized leadership but they are a "group" of people without doubt and the people out there tearing shit up consider themselves part of that group. they have "leaders" instructing them what to do out there and everything. they exist as much as proud boys and the boogaloo boys, just in much larger numbers

what i dont get is why yall get so defensive about them and try to ignore their existence at every turn, surely you arent saying its the peaceful protesters doing the vandalism, rioting, amd attacking the police

To be an organization especially a terrorist organization there is structure and a chain of command with clear values and goals. Also a means of joining and having membership.

Antifa and BLM are less organizations and more ideologies that people believe but there is no true overall structure on a large scale unlike the KKK.

See that's the problem though, without an organization people can just say "antifa did it" and you can't disprove it 100% because you can't disprove a negative (not without more work than its worth) so the side blaming it on antifa just gets to claim they are right, even if they aren't.

Do some people call themselves antifa? Yes. Are they organized? No. Is there any difference to them and a random dude off the street doing it? No. Does it matter if we blame some anomalous group? No.
