how to turn seattle Red
Literally the next line said to remove some functions - not all.
Sounds like a good plan, cops have to deal with too much bullshit they aren't properly trained or qualified for.
I mean, reading that document all of it sounds good. Especially the part about identifying functions that the police department currently handles that would be better handled by other city departments. That would allow the police to focus on, you know, what they should focus on, rather than some of the bullshit they have to deal with that could be handled by others.
What was that story about EMT services arising from the police that didn't want to do it? Seemed like a win. Let's do it again.
LEFTISTS DONT WANT TO DEFUND THE POLICE!

ah shit
WHEN I SAY IT IN ALL CAPS IT REINFORCES MY POINT!
Boy those other things the 50 percent reduction are going towards are pretty good things. Too bad leftists really don't want to abolish the entire police department, though.
Seems like a good read about my home town

About police unions and contracts
Good thing there is still a police force to handle violent criminals.
Good God, he doesn't read, does he?
And they do.
Doesn't US corporations hate unions? But apparently police unions are a good thing? If anything that just reinforces the point why unions are good for employees. Those cops just can't get fired, and the union fucks over everyone else to protect them.
Unions are almost universally fucking amazing for workers. From the perspective of the police the union is absolutely the best thing ever.
Unfortunately there's a large gap to bridge when your ordinary union duties consist of representation, fair wages, and termination protection vs. shielding murderers from prosecution, reinstating pedophiles, domestic violence offenders, etc.
6souls goin off this week
