Which is exactly why your government needs to actually begin to support small businesses and people on unemployment as a result of covid and not just give tax breaks and stimulus' to the big corporations like they currently are.

AKA, don't re-elect Trump in November. And ideally get rid of the idiots like McConnell clogging up the Senate because of their selfish greed
You can't expect people to just adapt while hundreds of thousands of people are dying from a virus and hundreds of thousands more are suffering from long-term affects.
Get that shit under control first and foremost. And after that learn to adapt to a new way of life. All while supporting the people and businesses most affected by the virus. Like the rest of the world has.
thats not really what our country did, they gave everyone a flat 1200 dollars and then 600 dollars a week on top of unemployment averaging around 23.50 an hour. PPP was loans designed for small business and businesses had to meet certain criteria to be approved and for forgiveness. weve actually been incredibly generous so far for both small businesses and the unemployed
the 600 dollar bonus ran out but hopefully the knuckleheads in congress can get something similar passed to extend that
Oh my bad. I only heard about the initial $1200 and saw headlines of zero accountability or transparency from the administration about who got the money from their small business relief plan
a certain amount of the loan has to go to payroll or it wont be forgiven, i think some dude tried to game it and bought a lambo and got owned and going to jail for a while, someone linked the story last week, seems like they are keeping a bit of an eye on it, im sure there is plenty of fraud happening but that is kind of inevitable
Yeah, it's the same situation up here with our CERB. Most people who are on it need it but there are definitely people taking advantage of it that don't
Weren't there alot of large companies, small businesses that were owned by other countries and churches that got PPP loans?
I let them sit on the front step then bring them in and wipe down containers, wash produce, then wash my hands and arms. Don't really think you're missing anything. Packaged food means the food inside is not contaminated. Unless the virus can somehow phase through walls now, in which case then I guess I'm fucked.
if you dont know how to safely buy groceries 5 months into this i feel bad for you son
yes years, I mean if you're looking at things rationally then you should have already accepted this.
those who I associate with are as progressive about the virus as I am. after a vaccine is mobilized, we will all get vaccinated and then probably only associate with each other for likely a few years. but the days of going out are over, maybe for the long term. I truly and honestly do not give a single fuck about the economy. it was built on a bullshit capitalist model of garbage and deserves to go down in flames. hopefully enough sensible people survive to build something better afterwards.
enjoy the hot take
how long do you let them sit on the front step?
this is odd, i feel like there is not a lot of things that can sit on your front step for hours on end that are healthy for you.
you living off cereal?
it's also boggling that a virus with at best a 2% mortality rate you think that's somehow going to wipe out all the undesirables? man.. you live in a different world than i do
30 seconds? covid doesn't magically transport off of surfaces into your body. you can wash it off.
stop being obtuse
The only people I see with this take are very self important and because it’s the biggest health concern they’ve experienced in their own lives means it’s of course going to be the most drastic case in history and will take decades to recover from.
It’s ok dude. Stay home. Please.
I get all my shit via instacart as well and then wash off some shit and scrub my hands and i'm gtg....how is that hard to grasp oh wait you're just being stupid to be stupid.
2% mortality rate coupled with all the horrible shit it does to your body if you do survive? Unless you get it and are asymptomatic or it hits you super light you can expect to have some shit going on with you. But it's cool, if it doesn't kill you then it's fine!
Theres being careful, and then theres depriving your body of all forms of bacteria and letting your immune system go inert.
