Are the local schools requiring masks when they reopen or no?

Ours were going to for 2nd grade and up before they decided to go back to remote learning.

YMCA did the same thing, but my daughter still wanted to wear a mask "to keep mommy and daddy safe."

My 6 year old gets it. Unfortunately, not everyone else does.

And it's great and all my daughter is responsible and actually keeps her mask on properly and pays attention to social distancing etc, but we're lucky as shit. You can be a great parent, but at the end of the day most kids aren't going to really care. It's more a roll of the dice as to them actually adhering to it.

And frankly, I honestly think the older the kid is, the harder it will be to enforce.

Was at a rest stop off the highway yesterday and everyone in Sheetz was wearing a mask, including two police officers in there, except one idiot wearing a Punisher-logo Blue Lives Matter flag shirt that said "BACK THE BLUE."

Bro, we're amazed every day. She's like next level. And yes, her bday is going to be a behind the scenes party at the zoo here (largest in the world).

She LOVES animals. Pre-covid we went to the zoo almost every week. 2019 we had 39 visits lol.

Part of my job involves accounting for the UNC dorms. Don't think this will effectively end me, but not good news for my profession. Yikes.

Did the Beckman Coulter IgG antibody test (96.8% sensitivity, 99.6% specificity) on Friday. Got results back today. Non-reactive. About 5 months on working exclusively on Covid units and I've never had it. I was a little shocked.

I mean it's amazing for the fact I haven't gotten it. I guess PPE, masks in public, and lots of hand washing actually works. But I wanted a positive antibody test. There's something nice about not having to worry about catching it for awhile. And it would've meant my kids had it most likely and wouldn't have to worry about them spreading it anymore. And I would have been able to donate plasma.

Someone came up with this line where they take COVID and declare it "acktually a symptom of (insert other liberal priority here)" and it has gotten out of hand. Also, somehow it's more dramatic to call something a symptom instead of sign, although arguably the unusually severe COVID crisis in the US would be a sign because it is measured rather than being self-reported.

To bring back an outdated SAT reference: A sign is to a disease as America's current COVID crisis is to inept governance.

Every extension beyond that is wishful thinking because looking internationally basically the only requirement for having a dramatically better time with COVID than we have had is passable governance.
