From Houston, I see people on fb going out to socialize with large groups of people all the time. One person I saw had their grandmother pass away from it and only then did she take it seriously. It literally takes a death of a loved one to even reach these people.
I fucking hate anyone who is making my job harder.
Just wear a fucking mask.

Not only does everyone want to live here but everyone wants to visit here. All those conservative states LOVE to hate on California but where do they take their vacations? California. I know in my area one restaurant is serving between 700-900 tourists a day for lunch and dinner. No big surprise that was ground zero for the first cases in my area.
Florida destroyed the single state single day positive case record with 15,300.
Previous 2 highs were CA with 11,694 (not sure when) and NY 11,571 (back during their peak)
Friend got tested in Florida recently and it took 8 days to get her results back, so there are quite a few doublings already built in to the reporting lag.
California has not been above 10k. Closest was 9.5k last Monday or Tuesday with 2k of the positive cases from test backlogs over the 4th of July weekend. The 7-day average is at 8.5k.
Meanwhile, CA counties that have been on the watch list since the last week of June may need to close all indoor retail early this week. TBH, shit should have been shut down 2 weeks ago.
Another 3 people at work popped positive within the last week so I had the pleasure of getting my nose raped again to check. Luckily, Florida has become less annoying to get a test whenever you want now since there's a lot more free walk-up and drive-in testing sites available along with the appointment based locations.
Governor of NM has mandated that indoor seating in restaurants be stopped come Monday, also masks are required for all exercise in gym or outside.

I feel bad for them cause the federal help is drying up in a few weeks and they're just now starting the sickness pains of covid that NY and broward/Miami have been having (maybe LA idk if they shutdown in-house dining). Sucks to go through it but if you were, you wanted to do it months ago not right now.

I'm not sure of all the places up where you live but you can check this site: https://www.broward.org/CoronaVirus/...ion-Sites.aspx. I went to the Mirarmar location which had 2 1/2 hr wait time.
