The masks and group occupancy rules are here to stay for a very long time, I think we need to move away from being surprised about it and towards expecting it as how life is going to be from now on. For sensible people anyway.

My city of 600k only has 15 active cases of covid in the entire city (yes 15) and we're still in stage 2 of reopening plans lol

I am 31, I have 3 Grandma's alive still. All my grandpas are dead... One murdered before I was born, the other two did within the last ~5 years. I currently live with my Dad/Grandma (Long story, short notice.), my grandma is up there in years (80+) and my dad has COPD, its pretty difficult for me to do any work right now, and its worrying to even leave the house. I worry for both of them, my dad still goes out on the occasional work job to keep his Insurance (for the COPD), and my Grandma still goes out with a family member or two every so often to shop or if they need a ride... she always wears her mask/etc, but I still worry.

I've got in the habit of washing my hands when I come home, no matter where i've been, and I keep the 90%+ Hand Sanitizer in the car as well. I do it not for me, but for them.

As far as blame, I hate China and the WHO for trying to bury this shit/downplay it in the beginning which lead to the worst possible scenario, but I also truly hate how poorly America has handled and how some people have managed to turn personal safety and not being an asshole into a political pissing fight. Dumb fucking Karens and Kyle's are not the type of people I'm going out of my way to support, and I have at least 1 in my family who occasionally shares the "If YoUr MaSk WoRkS wHy Do I nEed tO WeAr MiNe" Facebook bullshit.

When this shit first went down in February(?), I was one of those people who were like "Jesus Christ its literally a less scary Flu, why is the media freaking people out over nothing?", but, as we learned more on it, my opinion changed.

Yes because you can't reopen with active virus cases anywhere near you at all, much less your own town/city. Canada will be closed to US travel for several years, I'd imagine.

Yes, on the condition that all teams and players remain inside Canada (even the US teams must play only in Canada) for the duration of the season + playoffs.

Leaving for any reason results in suspension.

There's 6 Canadian teams in the NHL playoffs and hockey is Canada's favourite sport. On the flip side the Blue Jays fucking suck.

Yes, teams are confined to two hub cities. All players have to test negative before arriving, and will then be quarantined. All players will be confined to their bubble. As teams get eliminated, they will immediately be leaving, until the playoffs are done.

That's why the NHL is allowed to return, but not the Blue Jays. MLB will be having teams still travel to and from stadiums for both home and away games, so there will be a constant flux of travel, whereas there will be no travel outside of from hotel to arena for games. I think it's once they are down to the final 4, everything is also being moved strictly to Edmonton to further isolate.

For me it was more looking at the US side and thinking to myself "That's considered fucking 50% occupancy?" going by the article I read, given you'd have barely any leg room even if they were spread evenly between top/bottom decks instead of crammed on top. The other part was wondering how the boatin' can even be profitable/sustainable on the Canadian side.

We're already seeing a rise in cases after trying to re-open the economy/workplaces despite mask protocols.

Nevermind the mess that will be school kids, but it's not like our internet across the country is remotely up to snuff to support remote learning for everyone, especially those in rural counties. Which reminds me that Covid-19 is cockblocking my ISP from upgrading my net from 10mbit here because of protocol for the virus.

i got a friend who's a plumber for the school board and they just recently let him back in now and I can tell you they've been putting major bucks into schools hvac systems these past couple months so that each classroom is it's own little bubble from a ventilation standpoint. so yeah schools will probably be opening. masks, desks all distanced, and all that shit

Just checking, but do you mean 90%+ ethanol? If so that’s not what you want. The stuff around 70% is way more effective.
