Yeah, it’s a little weird and I’m mostly just spamming it as I move around. The caterpie behind the sign was the only intentional one because scan was showing me a ??? there and I tried everything to figure it out. Oh. I think it wakes up the sylveon, too in the first level. But not the leafeon in the jungle. That requires the light orb and the flower that’s beside it.
I just got the credits, and I thoroughly enjoyed that!
Some stats, that I'll spoil just in case you want it to remain a surprise:
Spoiler: show
I can move the liepard in the night jungle stage to get behind the waterfall easily but for the life of me can’t figure out how to get it to move during the day. I would assume it just straight up isn’t an option for day except the game specifically tells you it is.
I thought thats what I had to do to move that way... but I never tried it at night. That said, at night-time, you can clearly see Pokemon behind the Waterfall, but during the day there are none, perhaps you just cant do it during the day which is weird but possible.
I think I'm finally on the final Island, I got my Turbo Boost power up too, see if that gets me better shots later.
I need to work on getting the speed boost. I played through each level once, but then I started focusing on levels 1 and 2 to get the majority of pics I could, but after awhile you only start needing a couple things and zooming through to get to them would be helpful.
Ive been trying to take it slow too and get as many perfect pictures as I can, but also moving ahead occasionally. I have a lot of work to do on Island 3/4 still, but 1 and 2 are almost complete, minus getting Diamond ranks on all photos.
Got to the credits. 12.5 hours with a lot of time spent on the first two levels. There’s plenty for me to do still, though. Barely played most of the other levels.
I did run into glitches on the last “boss” level though. I hit the light orb to transform it into its Pokémon form. Then hit it again. It immediately went back into its orb form, went to the top of a broken pillar and then stopped there. Orb didn’t move no matter what I did and the car wouldn’t move either. Had to restart.
2nd time might have glitched as well. The first two rooms went well, including past where I got stuck before, but the third room- I assume the Pokémon was supposed to be in the third room as well, but it never showed up. At least that time my car kept moving and I moved on to the end.
18 hours and 15 min for me to take at least 1 pic of every Pokemon.
How much of the dex is in the game?
214 total. 10 are legendary/mythic, 5 are the special large “boss” ‘Mons.
It sounds like a low amount considering how many Pokémon there are, but each level is pretty packed with them. Though my one complaint is they could have fit a couple more in if they didn’t reuse a few of them in almost every level like Magikarp and Vivillion- though they use a different vivillion pattern for each level. Like, it’s so weird they used magikarp so much but didn’t even put gyarados in the game.
No Gyarados?? 0/10. Literally unplayable.
What's the point of having Magikarp if you can't throw a rock at it to force it to evolve into an angry Gyarados?
It’s especially odd when there are 3 spots in the game that would be perfect for a gyarados inclusion: 1st level has one stranded on a rock and you can hit it with an apple to send it flying into the water, same spot but a little later in the game, a Pidgeot can swoop down and take magikarp. Then in a different level, there’s a bunch of magikarp getting carried away to their death by frillish.
Dudes, Frillish are like the ultimate murder machines in this game. They look all cute and everything, especially when a blue and pink one is just standing there holding hands, but those fuckers are just waiting... to find one of the legendaries you actually have to save a lanturn from getting carried away by them and after you save it, it shows you the way.
As for the rest of the game, I almost, but not completely got every stage to level 3. There is also a Max level beyond that, but I only have gotten 1 stage up to that and I don’t think (but could be wrong) that anything’s different beyond lv3 of a stage.
There are also the challenges- taking pics of specific actions and poses of certain Pokémon. I’ve only done 26 of 192 and I probably have a few more challenges to unlock on top of that. Not sure I’m motivated enough to do all that. I feel 20hours of gameplay was enough for the price tag, though I’m sure I’ll occasionally revisit to try for some of the challenges.
It's name is Gary.
I'm pretty sure Frillish and Jellicent have some really disturbing pokedex entries. Also, if we're going to talk about murder machines, there's the scene in one of the trailers where a Drifblim is carrying a Clamperl and drops it off with others, but don't their pokedex entries say Drifblim carry people and pokemon to the afterlife or something?
Driflooms will wait until a child takes their hand and then it will kidnap them to the afterlife. They also hate fat children and their body is filled with a bunch of souls.
A few of my more favorite photos.
Spoiler: show
Didn’t know there were legendaries in this. Don’t think I’ve captured a picture of a single one. I’ll look into it.
You need to get the credits to get most of them to even show up.
