and think about it like this: the saints used a 3rd round pick and probably got the best years alvin kamara will have in his career 'cause that's just how the running back positions works. if you can turn your initial 3rd round pick, get 3-4 productive years out of him, and then you get yourself a fresh new running back to use and abuse completely for free for another 3-4 more years. on top of the fact the team doesn't have to worry about ever paying their running back. man, that's one hell of a win
