Yeah, Trump signed the bill they passed four days ago.

His plan is apparently to tell Georgians that electing more Republicans will allow him to pass a $2000 stimulus measure when Republicans are the ones who blocked it for him and the senators he is campaigning for would be in congress with Biden as president.

Stupidity has the overwhelming majority, though, so it might work.

Do we know when this shit is going to start rolling out? Sorry to pick your brain here.

My google-fu seems to indicate that they are doing it the same way as last time, so if you pay taxes with direct deposit it could be in your bank account within a week, but if you don't file federal taxes or are unbanked it could take a pretty long time and perhaps you would have to file taxes to claim it as a rebate:

I would like to think that the runoff in GA would force his hand, but we all know he won't do shit. They will still win both seats in GA, and we get to watch what the next 4 years are going to look like.

I don't know about that. If the Georgia seats were a lock, he wouldn't have bothered with the $600 stimulus at all. If anything they're getting hammered in Georgia because Trump is pushing for $2k and Mitch is not, and the ground game is pretty good out there with Dems going "See? That guy you voted for wants you to have money but the GOP doesn't, so vote for us and we'll do what Trump wanted".

Mitch may still vote no if he thinks the Senate is a lock, but if there's any doubt in his mind he'll choose to cling to power over losing it.

If Sanders attempts to delay the vote on the NDAA veto override, he would keep Congress in session through its scheduled winter break until January 1, 2021. On January 3, new members of Congress are expected to be sworn in.

Should Sanders go through with a filibuster, the delay could affect the campaigns of Georgia Republican Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. Loeffler and Perdue are both involved in special runoff elections taking place in January. Keeping Congress in session could mean preventing Loeffler and Perdue from hitting the campaign trail in the final days before the election.

My opinion of stimulus means jack shit because I truly don't need it, but I would gladly forgo getting the extra money if it meant Georgia's seats went blue and the Senate flipped. A million times over.
